Modman has posted news of Reaper’s latest release on the forums, it’s a single game arcade version of the classic Taito platformer, Bubble Bobble. Here’s the info about this release from Reaper:

“Total optimization of the driver and splitting the sound and main cpu emulation into 2 threads, makes optimzation easier for this driver, so sound and speed is very good.

2 player mayhem is now the strong point of this game! Full IMRtec intro like nothing seen before in homebrew from me. 4 days work on that, as well as the menu and grafix.

New features like the main character’s eyes blink on the main menu when a button is pressed. It’s still not perfect, but wait for the eyes to stop blinking to change options.

This game uses 2 sets to work, so refer to the readme and sets.png for info on whats needed.“
