I recently saw the Iris engine demos and was impressed. I had considered moving Neo-Metropolis over to Iris engine, but seeing as it’s written in C++ (and my lack of C++ knowledge) I have decided to work on my own 3D engine more. I need to create a map editor first before I can continue much with the actual game, which will take time. I’m considering using GL4Java and porting the engine over, but having add and modify object functions to create the lists of objects, then have the program output a script file, which the DC engine will read and use to construct the level.
