A new Coder whos Site is Called A128 joins the Dreamcast Scene

Well it seems that all of us in the Dreamcast Scene have missed a very cool site with lots of Dev and Homebrew stuff, heres whats featured on this newcommer to the Dreamcast scene site:

Dev News first:

1) KGL-X v0.0 library
Source (inkl. libgl.a) : out soon

Extended KallistiGL for KOS. Based on KOS/KGL 1.1.7 and libgl by Bero.
New features in V0.0: More GLU methods, GL Displaylists, new Z_NEAR clipping…..

2) 2002.07.27(GCC / SH4)
mat_sqrtipr(x,y,z) method
Source : mat_sqrtipr.h (C)
mat_sqrtipr is a math macro for the GCC compiler (Target SH4), which calculates
SQRT(x^2+y^2+z^2) using the SH4 FIPR and FSQRT functions. Very fast!

Homebrew:

2002.06.02(Dreamcast & KOS 1.1.7)
Frustum culling demo
Source (inkl. Elf): frucull-src1.zip (C++)
This is the first step in space partitioning, a technique which speeds up “the drawing process” in an application. From now on, you will not need to draw all the 3d objects in a scene, only the objects visible.

Also the site has this in the works:

2002(Dreamcast)
DCastle (W.I.P.)
DCastle is based on STAR CASTLE by Cinematronics. Currently, under development using free available librarys for the DC console. This is legal stuff, developed for fun. The gameplay will be very very INTENSE – and in 3D (or at least 2.5D).

So 4 seperate projects and it seems that this coder knows his stuff too. For those of you interested and that means all of ya 🙂 the site for all this cool stuff is Here

Also he has some done rather cool Amiga games too so its very much worth a looksy 🙂

Thanks to Heinrich himself for this great email and we hope to see more of your excellent contribution to the great Dreamcast homebrew scene.
