Adrian O Grady has updated his Fivemouse site with this news:
The response to a new version of DC Linux has been great! It’s good to know that there is still a lot of interest out there for it. But the real credit for this should go to the SH4 Linux Project. I’m merely taking their release and repackaging it into a form that’s usable by more people.
Secondly, I’d just like to point out that the DC Linux is not binary compatible with Linux for the x86. If I get one more request for Half Life/Quake/Unreal, I’ll scream! I’m only looking to include apps that just need a recompile. If you want to see an application included, please make sure the source code for it is available first. No source code, no inclusion in DC Linux.
I’m aiming to release the new version some time between Christmas and New Year. The reason for this slight delay is because I need time to download and test all the extra applications I’ll be including. Also, I’ll be passively looking for a Broad Band Adapter. In other words, I’m waiting for someone to offer me one at the right price (no, I wont pay ?80!) 🙂 This is so that I can try to include BBA support in the new version and because I have plans for a new version of DC Linux after the next release.
