Hy all,
An all new version of ngine is to be released very soon (0.30), presumably right in time for the new year. It will feature, amongst a lot of internal improvements:
Joypad control for file selection
Improved speed (only around 5-8% though)
Improved keyboard interface
NTSC detection fixes
Analogue controller now used for SNES start and select buttons
Also, expect the source to be out in a few weeks of further cleanup. I think the fourth release of ngine should have a stable enough source base for you to work with.
