Regex the great author of the very promising emulator FrNes has informed me that there will be a new release of FrNes shortly. 🙂
Also Regex has told me about a secret project that he is working on and it looks very promising and its not an emulator.

STATUS UPDATE

This is what Regex posted in the classic forum HERE

FDS support is planned for the release after next of FrNES (version 0.60 should be ready near the end of Sept. and the next release about a month after that). Just as a point of notice, 0.60 will clear up most of the graphic corruption problems, + the sound skipping of version 0.50. (Read: Full PPU rewrite, and Mapper Code restructure)
The version after that will have next-to-full mapper support (yes.. even Castlevania 3), FDS, as well as some other nice options for customization that have been in the works for a long time. (Read: Mapper code… hopefully in time for Halloween??)
