The dummy file tutorial came with a dos confusing program to make the dummy files. Well, magus was nice enough to send us a Front End for the program which makes life easier. I have included it with the download for the dummy file maker download. You can find the file in the dummy file tutorial. Here are complete details on what it is for:
“Basically it’s just a GUI version of the makefile.exe, as is available from your site to create dummy files. But an option to fill the files with zero’s is added. These files filled with zero’s can be compressed with a huge compression rate, and image files using zero filled dummy files can also be compressed very well. A few hunderd megabyte big dummy file takes up only a few kilobytes in a compressed image file.”
Thanks Magus!
