You might have noticed that i posted some news a while back about sega quiting the consol biz. It seem that was wrong and IGNDC have proven this:

Ah… the things we miss when we’re gone. It seems The New York Times, one of the most respected newspaper publications on the planet, has been starting up a video game storm for SEGA. First off the bat, on December 27th, 2000 the New York Times wrote a story on how Nintendo was in talks to buy SEGA for 2 billion dollars. Both companies laughed and scoffed at the idea claiming that no such deals or talks ever happened.
